Saving Image

To save the contents of the eMMC to a Linux laptop connected via USB you can do the following:

1. Boot using the SD boot version of the image. Make sure you hold the boot button down to force the boot from the SD card.
2. Open the terminal application on the desktop.
3. Type the following command line and hit enter:

dd if=/dev/mmcblk1 bs=1M | ssh user@ip 'dd of=/home/user/backup.img bs=1M'

Process should take about 10 minutes.

Restore Image to an SD card

To restore to a SD card (on Linux laptop...takes about 10-20min) Type the following comand form a tereminal window:

dd if=/home/user/backup.img of=/dev/<sdcard device> bs=1M

Saving a single partition

1.Boot the board from the SD card.
2.Open a terminal window and type:

dd if=/dev/mmcblk1p2 bs=1M | ssh user@ip 'dd of=/home/user/backup.img bs=1M'

3. On the Linux laptop or PC type:

sudo mount backup.img /mnt
