OSVehicle is a project to create an OpenSource car platform that it can be a perfect to run a GNU/Linux system on it

Specifications

TABBY EVO is a hardware open source platform for electric vehicles. Free to use, available to everyone. It’s the 2nd version of our platform: now it’s harder, better, faster and stronger. It is an open source framework for the creation of vehicles: it can be used to bootstrap businesses (electric vehicle startups), to create your own vehicle, for education purposes, and much more. By using it you can save a lot of millions of dollars and years of R&D. All the plans and blueprints can be downloaded in the website’s download section. You are welcome and encouraged to improve the designs, work on them, and upload them to share your ideas with the community through the OSV forum. Inspiration: Tabby cats are cute, sharp and very intelligent. Although other cats are also intelligent, these cats learn well to live with humans and enjoy their lives.

According to manual found online it works with "SME Eyeplus" software, using an interconnection cable (SME Code IV049A)

To connect the Engine Controller to a PC, use a RS232 12V Serial cable (3.3v will not work). This is an example of an adapter which was successfully tested.

Link should be setup at 38400

Connecting to the BMS

It is possible to connect to the BMS using a USB cable (male / male, type A on both sides). The BMS uses a serial over USB protocol. Serial link speed must be set at 9600. The protocol used over this link is a custom ASCII protocol.

Specifications of the protocol, and a simple software to display the main variables available from the BMS can be found here.
