I am a mechanical engineer, completely new to Beaglebone/board issues with an intense interest in embedded systems and special purpose computing. I have written data acquisition systems using expensive hardware and .NET software, but always thought that small and inexpensive computers distributed over a machine that were constantly gathering data and being polled would be a better way to go. Beaglebone Black looks like the ideal machine so far.
I have a BS, Mechanical Engineering, MBA, MS in Management Information Systems, and an MS in Engineering Management (along with a BA in English Literature). I currently reside in Southwest Florida.
