This is the [[BeagleBoard]] specific page for [http://code.google.com/soc/ Google Summer of Code].  BeagleBoard.org is seeking to be accepted as a mentoring organization for 2014.  BeagleBoard.org is currently recruiting mentors to assist with the ideas page and students to submit applications for BeagleBoard related projects.  We had great success with our projects in 2010 and 2013, and we want 2014 to be even stronger.

* Community Bonding Period: Students get to know mentors, read documentation, get up to speed to begin working on their projects.
 
* 19 May: Students begin coding for their Google Summer of Code projects; Google begins issuing initial student payments provided tax forms are on file and students are in good standing with their communities.
 
* Work Period: Mentors give students a helping hand and guidance on their projects.
 
* 23 June: 19:00 UTC Mentors and students can begin submitting mid-term evaluations.
 
* 27 June: 19:00 UTC Mid-term evaluations deadline; Google begins issuing mid-term student payments provided passing student survey is on file.

* 11 August: Suggested 'pencils down' date. Take a week to scrub code, write tests, improve documentation, etc.

BeagleBoard.org Summer of Code

This is the BeagleBoard specific page for Google Summer of Code. BeagleBoard.org has been accepted as a mentoring organization for 2016 and is recruiting mentors and students.

Prospective mentors are requested to assist with the ideas page, add themselves to the list, join the mailing list and contact Jason Kridner to be invited to be a mentor on Google's tool.

Students are requested to engage possible mentors and may begin submitting applications for BeagleBoard related projects starting now. We had great success with our projects in 2010, 2013, 2014, and 2016 and we want 2016 to be out of this world.
