This page describes a test developed for use with the CELF Open Test Lab. See Open Test Lab for details.

Table Of Contents:

Description

This test verifies whether the kernel supports an option to preset the "loops_per_jiffy" variable, and whether setting that variable affects the boot time for the kernel.

See Preset LPJ for more information about this feature of the Linux kernel.

The purpose of this test is to verify that bootup time can be reduced through use of this configuration or boot-time option.

Pre-requisites

This test needs 'target' to be installed and correctly configured in order to operate.

Please see Target Program Usage Guide for instructions for installing, configuring and using that program.
