The Shield I/O Cape provides the ability to mount (almost) every Arduino Shield on the BeagleBone Black, no matter if it’s using 3.3V or 5V logic levels. Changing from 3.3V to 5V is done by software. It can also be ordered with an onboard 16 pin I/O expander which is accessible over the I2C bus.
