I previously worked as a Software Developer at Bsquare Corporation located in Bellevue, WA during the months of July and August 2010. My work there was to develop a website for the Ford SYNC that can be accessed from an smartphone device, more particularly, the iPhone. I created an application for the Ford SYNC to serve pages through the web server and pass data from the SYNC device to the web pages. With an iPhone, one can navigate to the web page while connected to the SYNC's access point through the browser. With this webpage written using HTML5, the webpage can be stored as an offline application. The application is stored at the home screen just like any other application. It looks like an iPhone app, it feels like an iPhone app, because it is an iPhone app with the feature of communicating with the SYNC. An example of how this system works is found in the media aspect. With an iPhone connected to the SYNC through the SYNC's access point, the application can see the current playing track media information. The track is displayed in the application on the iPhone. A button to "Post Current Playing Track to Twitter" is available here. The webpage uses the iPhone data connection to take the Current Playing track media information to post to Twitter. The advantage to this is that there is not a subscription required to have a data on the Ford SYNC, but instead a data connection to the iPhone, which is standard.

Computer Engineering Major, Class of 2011.

Currently, I am a Senior at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology located in Terre Haute, IN majoring in Computer Engineering. I have a great interest in programming and working with embedded devices. Through both college projects and personal interest, I have worked with several microcontrollers/microprocessors some of which are listed:

  • Xilinx Spartan-3A FPGA Product Family and Spartan 3XC2S400
  • Renesas M16C/30P
  • Freescale HCS12
  • TI OMAP35x
  • TI Sitara AM35x
  • TI BeagleBoard

My work began in middle school as an ambitious student eager to learn. I began taken college courses in math the summer following grade 7 and again the summer following grade 8. By the end of 9th grade, I took courses full time and the local community college. I was able to retain 11th grade standing and participate in the Running Start Program. Through this program I was able to earn college credits as well as high school credit and gradutate High School with an Associate's Degree in General Engineering. Continuing my college education at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, I was named on the Dean's List Spring quarter of the 2009-2010 academic year.

At Rose-Hulman, I am an active member of the Student Alumni Association. I am also a Springboard diver for the Rose-Hulman Swim and Dive Team. During the Spring quarter of the 2009-2010 academic year, I was the captain of an Intramural Ultimate Frisbee Team. With a genuine personal interest, I taught myself to play the piano and the guitar.
